Small kitchen declutter and organization

I have been at it again, I have been decluttering and today I tackled my small kitchen and gave it a proper declutter and organization. I have been putting off sorting through my kitchen cabinets for a long time now. Earlier in the year, you might remember I cleared out my Monica press and my craft room, well, I finally plucked up the courage to tackle my kitchen presses. I have a really bad habit of hiding clutter behind the doors, drawers, and cabinets. My house looks like it is clean and tidy but if you open a cabinet or wardrobe door things will fly out and hit you on the head. Over the past year or so I have been consciously buying fewer things and choosing to spend my money on travel. I love the feeling of having less clutter in the home. I feel lighter and my home is easier to maintain and keep clean when I have less junk. Now, I won’t become a minimalist anytime soon, I adore collecting my trinkets and I don’t class them as clutter but I do want to be more conscious with what I purchase and what comes into my home. I have put together a Youtube video where you can see the before and after of my small kitchen declutter. Check it out below.

If you enjoyed this video then you might also enjoy my small craft room declutter. Back in January I was drowning under a sea of unorganized craft supplies and I decided enough was enough and I tackled my office. I added some extra Ikea storage and a new pegboard and I can happily report that I have kept my office tidy. I have since added a new adjustable table and you can see that here.

You might also enjoy my Monica press makeover. I tackled my hot press earlier this year and I added extra storage to it. It is no longer a dumping ground. My linen press has remained organized except for a few extra shoes sneaking in. You can catch the video below.

I hope you got a little bit of inspiration and motivation for decluttering and organizing your home. Please do let me know if you too have a drawer of doom! If you enjoyed the Youtube videos then please subscribe to my channel and give them a cheeky thumbs up.

Thanks for reading,

I had a drawer of doom in my kitchen. It was full of receipts & rubber bands & batteries & chalk & 1001 other things. Every time I opened it things would fly out or fall down below. I had a sort out & put everything in small tins. It looks so much better.
I love how you use the word “trinkets.” Is that an Irish thing?

I wish I had a kitchen as small as yours. Mine is about 7′ by 8′ wall to wall (thenwe sutract the cabinets. As for cabinets, I have a corner go-round cabinet, three large drawers on the bottom, and two large cabinets and four small /short cabinets on top … plus the under sink cabinet.
That’s it! I am trying to reduce my “stuff” to make it better. But it is really hard isn’t it?
