With its arrival comes a perfect opportunity to tap into our creativity and indulge in some delightful autumn crafts. As always, I’m constantly looking on Pinterest and Tik Tok for new craft inspiration. I stumbled across some simple but decorative and fun crafts that gave me all of the autumn feels!

Whether you’re looking to decorate your home or spend some quality time crafting, these five autumn crafts will spark your imagination. They’ll also bring the essence of fall into your living space. I’ve detailed a simple guide for each of them below so you can try them with me.

DIY Mini Fabric Pumpkins

Crafting a DIY autumn pumpkin from socks is a clever way to infuse your home with autumnal vibes.

Firstly, select a pair of autumn-coloured socks that resonate with the season’s warm hues to start this craft. Following this, take a hair doughnut, and place it inside one of the socks to serve as the pumpkin’s core.

Just like in the video, wrap the extra sock fabric around the hair doughnut and firmly fasten it in place using a rubber band or string. Lastly, to add authenticity to your pumpkin, twist a small twig or cinnamon stick into the top to mimic the stem.

This simple yet innovative craft transforms ordinary household items into a delightful autumnal decoration. You can also display it on your coffee table, shelf, or entryway to welcome the season’s beauty into your living space.

Plus, it’s also a fantastic way to recycle old socks and repurpose the hair doughnut. Giving them a new life as charming fall decor.

Leaf Printing and Painting

One of the most enchanting aspects of autumn is the beauty of falling leaves. Embrace this natural wonder by creating leaf prints and paintings.

All you need for this craft are a few fallen leaves, acrylic paint or watercolours, and some plain paper or canvas.

Firstly, select a variety of leaves with different shapes and sizes. Following this, dip the leaves into the paint of your choice and gently press them onto the paper or canvas.

The result will be stunning leaf imprints that capture the season’s essence. If you prefer a more artistic approach, use the leaves as stencils and paint around them to create unique autumn-themed designs. I also loved how the prints look in the frames – it definitely adds a chic touch to your autumnal art.

Easy Autumn Leaf Wreath

Crafting an autumn leaf wreath on a wire hanger is a beautiful way to embrace the season’s beauty. It also creates a charming decoration for your home.

First, take a wire hanger and reshape it into a circular form, ensuring it’s secure and sturdy. Next, gather a collection of colourful autumn leaves.

Next, assemble them on the wired hanger by piercing them in the middle. Feed them around until your wreath is as full as you want.

Also, using a hot glue gun to secure tiny pinecones or berries in the gaps between the leaves would be nice to fill out your wreath.

Hang your finished leaf wreath on your front door to welcome guests with the warm embrace of autumn. You can also display it indoors as a lovely seasonal accent that celebrates the changing colours of nature.

No-Sew Yarn Ghost

It’s not autumn without a touch of Halloween excitement! This fun TikTok craft shows us how to create an adorable, spooky no-sew yarn ghost for your Halloween decorations. You can conjure up this cute little ghost with just a few simple supplies in no time!

Watch as the creator skillfully wraps the yarn around their fingers, creating a bundle to form the ghost’s body. Once the yarn is secure, a piece of yarn is tied at the top, leaving a loop for hanging.

Trim the excess yarn to shape the ghost’s ethereal figure. Add eyes and a mouth using markers or googly eyes to give this ghost character. This simple and fun DIY is perfect for anyone looking to add a hauntingly charming touch to their Halloween decor without needing sewing skills.

Autumn Lantern

Creating an enchanting autumn lantern with leaves glued on the outside of the jar is a delightful DIY craft that will infuse your home with the warm and rustic spirit of fall.

To start, gather a clean glass jar or a mason jar with a smooth surface. Collect a variety of dried autumn leaves in different shapes and colours. Using a glue gun or craft glue, carefully attach the leaves to the outside surface of the jar, arranging them in a pleasing pattern.

You can cover the entire jar or create a semi-transparent effect by spacing out the leaves. Once the glue dries, place a small LED tea light or a votive candle inside the jar. Finally, watch as the soft light casts a beautiful glow through the leaves, creating an enchanting ambience.

This autumn lantern is a perfect addition to your seasonal decor. It adds a touch of nature’s splendour to your home during the cosy autumn evenings.

LOVE the pumpkin made from a sock and hair doughnut! I’ve been looking for a simple way of making fabric/knitted pumpkins. Now I just need to figure out where to buy hair doughnuts … I’ll check the “hair section” of my grocery store. Thanks, Catherine!
