Autumn decor and styling

This week I started to take the Autumn trinkets out of storage and started to style them in my home. I noticed the weather changing here this week. The evenings are starting to get a little darker and I noticed the Autumn berries appearing on my tree in the back garden. Each season has its own magic and I love Autumn for the golden colour and cosy feeling it brings. I have a new Youtube video which I link below where you can see the items I bought to make my home a bit more cosy as we transition into Autumn.

New Bedding

The first thing I did was get the bedspread out. I have some new bedding from Christy, you might remember my older set from them from earlier in the year. Well, I got my hands on the new floral Rosemore set. I love the print of this set as it has the colours of Autumn but I can style it in my home to suit my style of decor. I also teamed it with this bedspread from Christy, this bedspread has been out of stock but it is back in stock and its a classic piece. I can use it in Spring and throughout Winter as the blush colour goes with so much. Nothing beats the feeling of new bedding. It is like having a new bed. I also have been spraying the L’Occitane lavender pillow mist on the bed linen before bed. This definitely helps me nod off especially after a stressful day.

Adding texture

When the weather gets cooler I love to add texture to the rooms. You can do this by adding cushions in different fabrics like velvet and faux fur. You can also add throws and rugs. I treated myself to a new faux fur rug from Dunnes Stores. This was €35 but it is the best quality budget rug I have found. They did have a similar version in Primark but it felt really cheap so I decided to spend a little more and get this fluffy one from Dunnes

Autumn trinkets

I love Homesense and Tk Maxx for the decorative pumpkins and acorns. I had some in storage from last year and I popped in this week and I added to the collection. You can check out my video from last Autumn where I painted some pumpkins. We don’t get any real pumpkins here until around October time so these faux ones will have to do for now. I love how they blend in with my existing decor but they add an element of fun. You can have fun creating Autumn displays in your home. Whether it is a pumpkin display on your porch or a display in your dining room I find Pinterest great for Inspiration.

Flannel PJs and fluffy socks

Nothing says cosy like flannel PJs do. I am not a big Pajama wearer as I am always roasting even in Winter but I do love to lounge around the house. I loved this check shirt nightdress from Primark as it felt cosy but my legs were free and didn’t overheat me. Perfect shirt for lounging. I teamed it with some cosy fox socks also from Primark

I hope you enjoyed my Autumn haul this week. Don’t forget to check out this week’s Youtube video and I will also link to last Autumns pumpkin painting video as well. Do let me know if you pick up some Autumn pieces and if you are excited about the impending golden season.
