The perfect Christmas day outfit

Christmas checks with Laura Ashley

Stuck for what to wear Christmas day? Want something glam but you want to be comfy too? I picked a gorgeous outfit from Laura Ashley that I think is perfect to wear over Christmas.

For me I want to be comfy on Christmas day, because I work long hours over Christmas I am craving comfort but  I don’t want to be in  pyjamas all day either.

I can’t believe how close its getting to Christmas! honestly where does the year go.

The best thing about this outfit is that it is so classic and timeless and something that you can wear well into Spring and even take it out year after year as it is such a wardrobe staple. The check skirt and matching bag remind me of something a vintage fifties lady would wear.

I also love the brighter colours of this outfit as I hate wearing darker colours in Winter. Winter is dull enough so brighten up your wardrobe with some Winter whites.

Its always so hard knowing what to wear on Christmas day, flannel pyjamas are a given for Christmas morning but for dinner you want something more dressy, especially if your visiting family that you haven’t seen in ages.

I am optimistic for a white Christmas too so I teamed the skirt with a warm cable knit roll neck jumper.  You could team it with a blouse if you wanted to make it more dressy.

 The bag!

I am in love with the bag in the matching fabric to the skirt, now you don’t have to wear them together but I have them teamed together to show them off. The bag is stunning on its own and the perfect size for me as I can fit everything I need into it.

Checks never go out of fashion so this bag is a staple.

Catherine you look gorgeous. I love the skirt and jumper together. I've been looking for a jumper just like that so may pick it up, I'd never think to look at Laura Ashley for clothes! I tend to have one casual Christmas and then dress up the year after, we have Christmas at home so it's quite hard to get me out of PJs before dinner!! Love the new blog layout too – very chic x
