Late Summer and Early Autumn styling

Hands up who is excited for Autumn? We have been having amazing weather this Summer but I can start to see the very early signs of Autumn and it is making me excited. You will have noticed that a lot of the shops on the high street are showcasing their new collections. It is that awkward in-between time of the seasons. For me personally, I want to spend my money on pieces that will work well for now and for the season ahead. I don’t want to waste money on pieces that I will only get a few weeks of wear from them. I am also more conscious of fast fashion and I want to wear more and buy less when it comes to my wardrobe. I have teamed up again with Marks and Spencer to show you three looks that you can wear now and also for the season ahead. I recently wore these items on my trip to France and I was really impressed with the quality and the fit. I picked items that could be styled with tights and ankle boots for when it gets cooler around October time.

 Evening look

These late Summer evenings are still gorgeous so I decided to get this petite midi waist detail dress. This also comes in the longer length. This dress also travelled really well in my suitcase on my recent trip to France and I wore it out for dinner whilst on holidays. It is a staple dress that can be pulled out of the wardrobe again and again. I am wearing a size 10 in this dress and found it true to size. I wore it with my slider sandals but you can dress it up with some wedges or heels for night time. When the season gets cooler this dress would look fab layered with a blazer.

The perfect day dresses

I wanted to pick dresses that would look fab now but would also be cute worn around October time with tights and ankle boots. These two are perfect. I love teaming cute dresses with ankle boots for Autumn and also layering them up with cardigans. Depending on where you work these might be cute for the office. I love that both of these dresses have a sleeve so if you are conscious of your arms then give these a try.

I love vibrant colours for Autumn, not everything in your wardrobe has to become dark once Autumn starts to comes. I love the pop colour in this red floral dress. This dress also has a really flattering neckline and the jersey fabric is slightly heavier so it can keep you warm through the cooler Autumn season. I teamed my dress with these block heel ankle boots. These are a perfect ankle boot to ease you into Autumn as they sit neatly on your ankle and don’t rise up too high on your calf. This time of year I don’t wear a jacket but the evenings will start to become cooler so I picked this cardigan to layer over both of my dresses.

Leopard print is really popular at the moment but I don’t like how dark a lot of the leopard print items are. I was delighted when I found this blush dress with leopard print. It almost looks like a floral print until you look closer at it. This also has a really feminine and delicate sleeve detail. This fabric is nice and light so it is perfect for now and later in the season you can layer it with your cardigan and ankle boots.

I love all of the items you have showcased but my favourite has to be the leopard print dress. It looks a lovely style and very flattering. Yep, Autumn definitely in the air, I sat in my living room last night with my log burner going, watching the drizzle outside. X

It was like that last night here. No log burner but lots of rain and I love that feeling when you can hear the rain pelting off the windows x
