Lyre’s alcohol-free spirits to give your mocktail a kick

If you are like me, and the hangovers are just not worth the hassle, but you still fancy a tasty tipple, then this post is for you. I am sharing details on the new Lyre’s alcohol-free spirits. What are alcohol-free spirits? I hear you say. Alcohol-free spirits have zero alcohol but with the same tasty kick as a regular alcoholic drink, and they help you avoid the dreaded hangxiety.

I am a massive fan of a creamy pint of Guinness. However, with pubs closed the past year, and not drinking much, my alcohol tolerance is low. All I have to do is look at a pint, and I feel sluggish, groggy and hungover. Also, not to mention the hangxiety. I am a fan of having a cheeky 7up and pretending it is vodka on a night out. However, with more bars stocking alcohol-free spirits, I do not have to stick to fizzy drinks and juices for an alcohol-free option.

Alcohol-free spirits

There are times when we do not want a drink. I do not know if it is just an Irish thing, but people assume something is wrong when you say you are not drinking. “Are you pregnant?” “Are you on antibiotics?” “Agh just have one drink”. I like the idea of alcohol-free spirits as they may help you avoid that awkward “Are you not drinking?” question.

What is hangxiety?

I read about hangxiety from this Unilad report. Hangover anxiety – or hangxiety, as it’s coined – is a legitimate phenomenon which directly impacts some people’s moods and goes hand in hand with physical hangover symptoms, such as headaches and nausea, says the report.

According to Drinkaware, Symptoms can be psychological, such as feeling anxious or depressed, with some people feeling the effects of this the morning after drinking alcohol because they are withdrawing from its effects.

So, if you are like me, and you cannot add any more fuel to the anxiety fire, then have a try at these tasty Lyre’s alcohol-free cocktails. I got to try four of the Lyre’s alcohol-free spirits. Also, I was shocked at how they tasted and smelt exactly like the real thing! I tried the Italian Spritz, American Malt, Italian Orange and Dry London Spirit. You can mix these to create some tasty mocktails.

Also, Lyre’s is the world’s most award-winning non-alcoholic beverage? It’s also vegan friendly, dairy and gluten-free and is low in calories and sugar! I recently watched their mixologists create tasty mocktails, and I will share some with you.

I just love the idea of a mocktail. I looked up Lyre’s and its cool that its available here in the US too 🙂 Anytime I have a girl’s night with my friends, they always want to drink drink drink, but I myself am not a drinker. We’re having a Galentine’s day gettogether, and I think I’m gonna make an alcoholic mix and a non-alcoholic mix! Love the ideas Catherine, thanks for sharing
