How To Make Pretty Fabric Hangers

Want to see how to make pretty fabric hangers? Well, I have a video showing you how. This DIY is perfect for sewing newbies and it is also a great DIY for using up scrap fabric.

I am a bit of a hoarder of scrap fabric so I am always looking for things to make from scraps so I don’t have to throw them out. I learned to make these a few years ago when I went to sewing classes. I got the idea from my teacher Mary, you can find here her on Instagram.

These hangers are so easy and you can easily knock these out on your sewing machine in under an hour. You can also get creative with your fabric and play around with different lengths and even add pockets too. As I was making these I thought that they would be a fun wedding DIY.

They would be perfect for styling your hanger on your wedding day and you could even add some embroidery to them to personalise them.

All you need to make these hangers is your sewing machine, some thread, fabric scissors and some paper to make a template. You can see from the video below how I made them and put them all together.

I also added a pocket to the front of my hangers. The pocket is great for storing things like bra straps or tights with your favourite dress.

If you enjoyed this easy sew DIY then you might like to also make my DIY drawstring bags. I made these back in January and I recently used them when I went on holiday.

They were great for neatly storing underwear and accessories so they wouldn’t get mixed up in my suitcase. You can check out the drawstring bag DIY below and by clicking here.
