Christmas Eve Routine with Marks & Spencer | AD

Making Christmas Eve Cosy

Can you believe we are almost nearing Christmas? I work in retail by day and as it is our busiest time of year, December can be a bit of a blur and tends to go by so fast. As I work crazy hours in December, I like to try and take Christmas Eve off. There is just something so cosy about Christmas eve that I love. As a kid, we would have had a few traditions that still to this day I like to do. I have teamed up with Marks and Spencer for this post and I also have a haul style video for you as well if you want to check it out.

New bedding and new pyjamas

Every Christmas Eve my favourite thing to do would be to put on my new pyjamas. Growing up we would only get new clothes for special occasions and I would get so excited about new pyjamas. As I got older I started to treat myself to new bedsheets too. Nothing beats the feeling of freshly washed sheets and new pyjamas. You are guaranteed a great nights sleep. On Christmas Eve I change up my bedsheets first thing. This year I picked the doggy print bedding set from Marks and Spencer and I teamed it with the faux fur throw for the bottom of the bed. Blondie tends to sleep by my feet so I always pop a throw on the end of my bed. I also layered it up with the doggy print cushion in the matching print to the bedding set.

Setting the table

Now that I am older and have my own place to call home I find I end up hosting and entertaining people. Whether it is a few mulled wines before heading out or a full-blown dinner I love to have people over. I picked up a few festive bits for the table to make it extra festive over Christmas and the new year. I picked up the set of four printed side plates. I love these because they are timeless and you can take them out each year, they have a lovely vintage print on them. I also got a matching deer mug, perfect for leaving out a cookie and carrot for Santa on Christmas Eve. I will be hosting dinner this year in my home and I love serving things up in pretty roasting dishes. I picked up this heart roasting dish and tree-shaped platter. I love that the heart dish could be used any time of the year as you could use it for a fruit bowl after Christmas. Do you guys like to use festive tableware over Christmas?

One of my favourite things to do is to curl up on the sofa on Christmas eve and watch Christmas movies. My fave is The Holiday and Love Actually. I love to curl up with my fave Christmas Jumper on and eat all of the goodies. After such a busy month I just love to sit and unwind and simply do nothing whilst being cosy. I love the sense of calm on Christmas Eve ( well, before I start prepping for the dinner lol). I also love to get out and go for a walk on Christmas eve, Whether it is popping up to see my niece and nephew or simply taking a stroll through the woods to get some fresh Winter air. There is a little bit of magic and excitement in the air on Christmas Eve.

I've been dying for that sweater, but they don't deliver to the US. 😥
