Cosy Autumn Lookbook

Sweater season with Marks and Spencer

I am finally getting that Autumn feeling, I am seeing the leaves falling and the nights are drawing in. I have noticed that the mornings and evenings are getting cooler and I even had the heating back on! So, I thought I would share some pieces that will keep you cosy but cute for the rest of the Autumn season. I picked up pieces that are hero pieces for your wardrobe and these will last all season long, I teamed some knitwear pieces with skirts that are in nice pastel and berry shades. I do love Autumn but I like to add some lighter shades to my wardrobe for the season.  I love the quality of the Marks and Spencer clothing so I invest in pieces that I can get a lot of wear out of.  I have been wearing the pieces from my last few posts featuring marks and Spencer and I can vouch for the quality and they are wearing well.

Cosy knits and textured skirts

As you guys know I am not a massive fan of jeans or trousers. When it comes to the Autumn season I can struggle to find cute dresses. I just love a jumper and skirt combo. I love tucking cute oversized jumpers into skirts. I picked two corduroy mini skirts for today’s look. I love the texture of corduroy as it reminds me of being a kid, remember the cute corduroy pinafores and skirts you had in Autumn as a kid. I have layered up these skirts with knitwear, a biker jacket and a complimentary scarf.

I like to mix and match pieces and I love having pieces that complement each other. Cold Autumn mornings can be a struggle so I like to reach inside the wardrobe and pull out a cosy jumper and quickly team it with something that I know will match. I have two jumpers that will work well with both skirts and you can mix and match them. They would also be cute teamed with jeans and ankle boots too.

For sizing, I got the skirts in a UK size 10 and I sized down for the jumpers and jacket and I got these in a size 8. I am smaller on top with narrow shoulders and knitwear and be bulky on me so I generally size down with jumpers. If you are petite like me then don’t forget to check out the petite range as you can get my cream jumper in both petite and regular ranges.

Layer with a jacket

I love a biker jacket in Autumn, I try and leave the heavier jackets in the wardrobe until it gets really cold. They can be quickly thrown on when running to the car and they never go out of fashion. I picked this berry toned one to add some colour for Autumn. I also layered it with this complimentary lightweight checked scarf.

I hope you liked my lookbook today and you got some inspiration for your wardrobe. I know that this time of year it can be hard to know what to wear. Cute outfits! I love corduroy, it seems like the perfect texture for cold weather. Unfortunately it is still rather hot where I live, but hopefully the cold weather is on the way!
