Afternoon tea with a fun twist
Last week I and the ladies had a fun afternoon tea in The Westin in Dublin. As you know I love visiting somewhere new for a treat and I love going places that are pretty as it gives me inspiration. For this afternoon tea, we decided to go for the “Peculiar” options. This was amazing. We had Hendricks gin mojitos served in our teapots. The food was delicious and it wasn’t your usual triangle sandwiches.
I also put together a little Vlog too for you to have a look.
The Westin
The Westin is in the heart of the city. It is a really fancy hotel and the decor is amazing. Our afternoon tea was held in The Atrium lounge. This is such a stunning room. I am not used to fancy hotels with doormen opening the door for me but this was a real treat. Our afternoon tea cost us €38 which I thought was good value as we got tonnes of delicious food and plenty of Gin in our teapots. We definitely left a little giddy from our Peculiar afternoon tea.
There are a few options of afternoon tea in the Atrium lounge. You can get Mad hatters afternoon tea, Traditional afternoon tea, Kids afternoon tea and the most peculiar afternoon tea.
The food
My favourite treat from the day was the homemade popping marshmallows. These had some popping candy which I hadn’t had in years since I was a kid. There was also a chocolate and mouse filled edible teacup which was adorable.
As you can see the decor was amazing and our Gin Mojitos were served in the most adorable teapots with matching tea cups. If you are visiting Dublin then this would be the perfect afternoon treat.
I loved the idea of a peculiar tea as I love going to try afternoon tea in different places but sometimes it can get boring with the same old tea and sambos but this definitely spiced it up for me and my taste buds.
