Parisian chic, Style Inspiration.

“You don’t need to be born in Paris to have Parisian style” – Ines de la Fressange.

If you follow me on Snapchat you will know I am so excited to be visiting Paris in February. It is my first time and I am almost ashamed to say it is my first time as it is such a stunning place and the motherland of the shabby chic style that I love and I can’t believe I have never been there before.

Whilst planning my outfits I was stalking the styles of the Parisian ladies on Pinterest. They exude such elegance and class. A timeless style that looks effortless and chic.

Today I have a few pieces to share with you from Dorothy Perkins that is Parisian inspired and will definitely be getting packed in the suitcase for my trip.

Focus on the fit.

As I am heading to Paris in February it is going to be freezing! So I wanted a nice tailored coat to wear as I explore and ramble around Paris.

I chose this petite jacket from Dorothy Perkins as it is really fitted and tailored to my smaller frame. If you are short like me you will know how hard it is to get a good fitting and smart looking jacket. This is perfect! I didn’t have to shorten the arms and just like the Parisian ladies it is classy and elegant. A lot has to be said for a well fitting jacket.

Keeping it minimal.

From stalking the Parisian ladies style I noticed that they keep their accessories to a minimum and their items aren’t loud or blingy. As I will be exploring I went for this grey backpack and scarf. The backpack is the perfect size for me to store my camera and lenses and also to store a sneaky bottle of wine and cheese just incase I get hungry whilst exploring the streets of Paris.

The perfect bag to pack a mini picnic by the Eiffel tower.

Their classic makeup.

No orange tan and stacked eye lashes for the Parisienne ladies. I noticed that they have amazing skin and complexions and a lick of a classic red lip to make a statement.

My red lippy is Benefit They’re real lipstick in shade revved up red.

To feel extra glam in Paris I will definitely be packing my red lipstick.

Dresses and Knits.

It will be pretty cold when I visit in February so I picked up this knitted dress and the skater dress. I don’t wear jeans so it will be heavy tights keeping my warm teamed with my dresses.

I don’t normally wear knitted dresses but this one is really cosy and flattering. One that will definitely keep me warm when I am rambling around town on the hunt for the infamous cake shops.

Jumper dress.

Skater dress.

I love the colour of this skater dress. This is my go to style as I love the shape of these dresses. Mine is Petite but on the Dorothy Perkins website click on the New in section as I seen some gorgeous skater style dresses.

I hope you enjoyed this post. I will be travelling to Paris the 6th of February so keep an eye on my Instagram  and Snapchat for my ramblings around Paris.
A huge thank you for everyone who sent me their suggestions on places to visit and especially recommendations for fabric shops and markets.

Thanks for stopping by.

Catherine.

You look great, I love the subtle check on the coat. Really classy. I love Paris, it's one of my favourite places in the whole world. That said, be careful if you're using a backpack, especially near the Eiffel Tower or on public transport because pick-pocketing is rife. Cold though it may be I would definitely say walk everywhere if you can, we walked everywhere from our hotel (all the way across central Paris) and you see the coolest places that way. Uber is the way forward from the airport or train station cause the chaps outside (not in the taxi rank) will try and rip you off. We were quoted €86 for a journey that was €15 in an uber! Have fun, I'm so so envious!! Xx
