So I have started my sewimg classes and wanted to share how I am getting on so far.
My New Years resolution was to learn how to sew so at least I have finally started.
My first creation is this floral shabby chic cushion.
My teacher told me to pick fabric that I really like so that if I mess up il be more willing to finish as il want to salvage the fabric.
The fabric I picked is from hickeys and it was roughly €10 for the metre but I did get it when they had there sale on.
I used half a metre of fabric to make my cushion.
I got this singer sewing machine for my birthday as it was on special offer in Aldi.
In my class I use a sewing machine that’s from the school. It’s a really old retro machine but they all do the same job.
I finally took mine out of the box and found it easy to thread and thread the bobbin.
I decided to practise making another cushion and I made this cushion below using a tea towel from pennies (primark) that I got for €1.50.
I used white cotton fabric for the fold on the back.
Next week in my class I will be making a little cotton tote shopper bag. Iv picked some pink polkadot fabric and can’t wait to start it.
I do my sewing class in my local secondary school and it’s great value at €90 and it will run until April.
This week I didn’t get to make much shabby chic crafty items aside fromy cushion but I did re do my hall display to freshen it up.
The little vintage bicycle is from homestore and more and on special offer for the month of February! I can’t wait for payday to buy more for the garden.
