My garden isn’t the biggest but I love to treat it as an extra room in my home. Today I am pulling from my blog archives and sharing 10 of my favorite garden DIYs that will instantly brighten your outdoor space. The weather is going to be good this weekend, ( which is rare in Ireland) so why not make the most of it and have a go at some of my DIYs below.
DIY Tyre planter
It can be easy enough to get your hands on an old worn-out tyre. They are easy enough to transform into fun plant pots. All you need to do is stack them up, line them with some hessian and add your flowers. You can also get really creative and paint them in fun colors too. See how I made mine here.
DIY Budget Friendly Flower Wall
Are you hosting a Summer party and want a fun backdrop to take photos? Why not make a paper flower wall. Although this is a cheaper option to a flower wall it is time-consuming. You can have the girls over and make your paper flowers together to ease the workload. Catch the tutorial here.
Ikea Rug Hack, Turn The Tanum Rug Into A Pillow
Do you want some cute garden cushions but don’t want to break the bank? Why not use the cheaper Ikea rugs as fabric for some outdoor cushions. These are really easy to make and you can fill them with pillows. Perfect for popping on top of a rug for some extra garden seating. Catch the DIY here.
How to turn a chair into a plant stand and garden shelf
We all have an odd chair lying around that we have no room for but we can’t bear to part with. Why not chop it up and turn it into two items. I cut this old chair into two items and I made a flower pot and a shelf. This is a really great way to fill any gaps in your flower bed and add some color. You can get really creative and paint it in a color to suit your style. Find the full post here.
DIY Teacup Birdfeeders
Have you got some old china teacups lying around? Why not transform them into pretty teacup bird feeders and make your very own feeding station using an old wooden palette. Mine is still going strong and hasn’t fallen off the wall, lol. Catch the DIY here.
DIY Teapot bird feeder made from palette wood
You may have realized by now that I do love palette wood, it is just so easy to get your hands on it for free and you can do so much with it. I chopped up and old palette and made this cute garden feature. Perfect for adding a bit of character to your space and the birds will love it too. See how I made it here.
Paint your garden pieces
I adored this wishing well but I wanted to add some color to it. I used the Autentico Versante matt to transform this piece and I am pleased to report that it has held up really well. This is an old video but I think you will get some inspiration and ideas to paint your old pieces in your garden. Catch the post here.
Hosting a garden party
Last year I hosted a fun festival style Summer garden party. I don’t have a lot of garden furniture so I used some rugs, pillows, palettes, and items from the home to style this party. If the weather is nice this weekend then why not throw a mini get together. See how I styled it here.
Painting metal garden furniture
Have you got old rusty metal furniture that you want to give a new lease of life to? Why not have a go at salvaging it and give it a makeover. You can also use this paint on metal gates. See how I painted mine here.
