City break style with Carraig Donn | *Ad

This week I was off exploring the beautiful city of Budapest. I love a new city to explore and I want to look cute whilst doing so and comfort is also a priority for me as I tend to do a lot of walking on a city break. In today’s post I have teamed up with Carraig Donn to talk about packing for a city break and I am going to show you the pieces I packed in my case. All of the pieces in today’s post are available online at carraigdonn.com. I also have a discount code for you ladies which I will share at the end of this post.

Sundresses are my staple

Those of you will already know how much I adore a tea dress. I love them because I can easily roll them up in my suitcase, they are lighter than jeans and they are a full outfit. I like to pack dresses that can be worn for both daytime and then in the evening for dinner. I find on city breaks I am more of a daytime explorer. I head to bars in the evening but I am normally too tired from all the exploring to rave into the early hours! But, in case I decide to stay out all night I like to have a dress that I can party in.

I packed this light floral satin dress, this easily rolled up into my case and I hung it in the bathroom and any creases from being in the case easily fell out. I walked about 5km in this dress and I even rowed a boat whilst wearing it! It kept me cool in the 26degree heat too. This dress is €49.95 and you can find it here. I am also wearing a size 10 in this dress.

I knew the weather was going to be sunny before I headed off so I picked this Jaime La Vie floral skater dress to bring with me. I loved how it popped against the colourful background. This dress is perfect for daytime but you can easily add a pair of heels and a pretty clutch bag to change it up! This dress is €59.95 and I am wearing a size 10. I find the sizes nice and generous and there is some stretch to this dress too. You can find it here.

Skirt and Top combo

If you are like me and you love a pretty top but you don’t wear jeans then I love combining a skirt with a pretty top. I fell in love with this lace skirt! I think I will be living in it all Summer. It is knee length and it has a nude slip sewn into it. It held its shape really well too and didn’t crease in my case.  Just like the dresses this is a really versatile piece and can be worn day or night. I love this skirt because it reminds me of one f my favourite bloggers Julia Hengel. She always has fab midi skirts but I love that this one is similar but more affordable. It is €59.95 and I got a size S. You can find it here. I teamed my skirt with the adorable Palo D’Oro bow front top. I loved the bow on the front of this top and I loved the pop of blush colour. This top is timeless and something you can have in the wardrobe and pull out at any time. This top is a steal at €24.95 and I got the size S/M, You can find it here.

A versatile Jacket

As I am always in a pretty dress I can struggle to find a nice jacket that compliments my outfit. I love a nice biker jacket and I was delighted when I stumbled across this feminine one on the website. It was a ruffle detail on the sleeve and the hip. When wearing dresses I find a shorter jacket suits my frame better as it nips in at the waist. This jacket is a winner! the colour matched all of the pieces I brought with me and it was perfect for the evenings when it got cooler. I also like a jacket that is light as I hate lugging around a jacket when travelling. This rolled up nicely in my case and it was light enough in my backpack too. I got mine in a size S, it was €49.95 and you can find it here.

Crossbody bag

When I travel I normally travel with hand luggage, for the airport, I have my case and my backpack but when it comes to exploring the city I love a smaller bag that is light and doesn’t way me down. When I explore I want a bag that is big enough for my camera, cards and some cash. This bag is perfect for that. It has an adjustable strap making it easy to wear across your body. I am always wary of pick pockets when travelling so I like a bag that I can keep close to me. This also has zips, each compartment is zipped making it harder for pick pockets. It also has a pretty bow detail on the front which matched my top! I loved the colour as it tied in with all my other outfits and matched nicely. The bag was €29.95 and you can find it here.
