Weekend wedding guest style

Got a two-day occasion coming up?

Nowadays I find weddings and occasions spill into the next day and end up being a two-day affair. Are you struggling to find something for both days? Well, in this post I have teamed up with the ladies over at mykindofdress.com to share two looks that are perfect for any weekend occasion. Whether it is a two-day wedding or a fancy weekend away with the girls I hope you get some inspiration from these two looks.

The main event

For my first look, I picked a dress that is a perfect wedding guest dress. It is also the perfect ladies day dress too. What I love about this look is the fab jacket. It is so hard to find a matching jacket to go with dresses. I like to cover my arms for during the day especially for weddings when I am in the church. This jacket is the perfect length and it nips in at the waist making it really flattering when teamed with the dress.

As you know I am a lover of dresses and one of my go to shapes of dress is the fit and flare skater style. I adore this lace dress. I just think it is super flattering and feminine. It has adjustable straps which are perfect for us petite ladies who struggle with falling straps. I am quite busty and their bust area is really flattering. Under the bust is nice and fitted and then it flares into a gorgeous full skirt.

For any brides to be I thought that this dress would make a gorgeous rehearsal dress or even a day two dress. I am wearing a  size 10 in both my jacket and dress and you can find both my dress and Jacket here.

The day two outfit

Agh yes, the second day, you might have partied way too much the night before and you aren’t feeling too fresh but you want to look fab. I have been to many a two-day wedding and the second day can sometimes be even better than the actual wedding day. Once the hangovers are cured it is time to get glammed up for the second day. It is quite popular for people to have a bbq or a dinner on the second day so I always try and pick and outfit that is semi-formal.

For my second look, I went with two separates. Attending weddings can be really expensive when you add up all of the cost involved so you want outfits that you can wear again and mix and match to get your money worth.

I went with the pleated midi skirt and teamed it with the white long sleeved blouse. Both these pieces can be worn again for another occasion. I love the delicate pleat detail of the skirt. The material catches the light and the length is really classic. I went with the long sleeved blouse as I love covering my arms. You could also team it a little cami if you preferred something lighter. The skirt is also high waisted which for my shape is perfect as it nips in at the smallest part of my waist.

I am wearing a size 10 in both my blouse and skirt and you can find them here.

I hope you liked my two looks today, coming into wedding season it can be a minefield trying to find the perfect dress and if you are like me, you will want to still have money to spend at the bar and not break the budget all on an outfit.

I just looove the lace dress. Big fan of lace dresses. And English embroidery too. I have a blouse similar to yours. Maybe I should pair it with a pleated skirt too. Very nice outfits for spring/summer affairs.
