Spring bedroom refresh with Marks & Spencer |AD

Bringing a touch of spring to my bedroom

I love this time of year and I love giving the house a freshen up. As you know I am always changing up my decor but a simple and easy way to give your room a new look without getting the wallpaper striper out is to simply change your bedding. Today I have teamed up with Marks & Spencer to share my new Spring sheets and decor.

As it is still quite cold I still had my flannel Christmas check duvet set on the bed. It was doing my head in looking at it as it was so dull. So to give my bedroom a pick me up I picked some brighter bedding from M&S. I got the Dovecoat floral bed set and the Dovecoat frill pillowcases as my bedding. I loved the print on these but they are actually even nicer in person. They are 100% cotton and feel lovely and thick. I love when your duvet has that crunch like in a hotel duvet. This set feels really luxurious and the frill detail on the edges makes it look so elegant.

For a pop of pink and a touch of luxe I added the diamond quilted throw to the bottom of the bed. I also got the matching diamond cushion to tie it all together. I was worried the two colours wouldn’t match but I think they look fab together. The throw comes in different colours too so even if you want to give your old duvet set a new lease of life then simply adding a throw to the bottom and new cushions is a quick and easy way to breath life back into your bedding.

Between the sheets.

I always wanted a really nice duvet just like the ones you get in a hotel. That crunch and snug feeling you get in a fancy duvet. My old one had gone flat but it was a cheap one and I really do think you get what you pay for. I got the all seasons 13.5 tog duvet and the great thing about this duvet is that it comes apart. There is two detachable parts and one is a 4.5 tog and the other a 9 tog and put together its 13.5 so when it gets warmer I can take off one of the layers to make it lighter. Although I will admit that I am that person who has a heavy duvet on all year round as I just love being snug and warm in the bed. We spend so much time in our beds so its definitely worth investing in good quality bedding.

To pick up on the pop of pink I got the Egyptian cotton fitted sheet and the best thing about this is that it is non iron! When I was younger I always found it bizarre that people ironed their bed sheet but then I became one of them crazy sheet ironing people and I always iron my bedding so this is handy as it is one less piece to iron.

The finishing touches.

If you have been following me awhile you will know my love for all of things trinkets and knick knacks. I picked a few items to tie in the bedding and pick up on the colours in the room. I am a massive fan of the artificial flowers from M&S and I have a few of them in my home already. My house can lack natural light especially this time of the year so real flowers don’t last long in my house so I love the artificial flower arrangements to brighten up the rooms.

This gorgeous Peony and Anemone arrangement comes in this cute jug and sits perfectly on the bedside table. The cherry blossom and rose arrangement is also from M&S but it is from last year but eep an eye on their site as they are always adding new stock.

Its all about the scent for me and I love lighting a candle and the smell brings back a memory. There is loads of gorgeous candles in M&S but I have a soft spot for these ones. You might remember I got one at Christmas and it lasted ages and the smell of them lingers in the house for ages. This time I got the pink rhubarb flower candle and it smells so sweet. It smells really fruity and crisp and it is a lovely fresh smell. I love coming home and lighting candles they just lift my mood so much.

For a touch of shabby chic I added the doily round cushion to the bed, this looks like it could be a vintage cushion and the detail in it is gorgeous. I love the pop gold and the flower detail on the front. It really is an eye catcher and looks much more expensive than it is.

I hope you enjoyed todays post and I would love to see your Spring bedroom makeovers. Make sure to tag me in your snaps on Instagram and let me know which item was your favourite in the comments below.
