Homeware Haul | New Kitchenware

New kitchenware

Over the past few weeks, I have been getting busy in the kitchen.  I have been learning to cook and having fun doing so. On payday, I decided to reward myself with some new pieces for the kitchen. From cooking the past few weeks I realized I needed some new posts, tea towels, and trays, so, I headed to Ikea and my local Homesense and treated myself to some new kitchenware. I will share my items below and if you scroll to the end f this post you can check out my Youtube video where I show them in more detail.

Pots and Pans

I seem to go through pans! I don’t know if it is my cooking or that they just aren’t made to last, but I find they go crappy after a few months. When I was in Ikea I picked up the Senior frying pan. This comes with a 25year warranty. It is on the pricier side at €35 but I figured that you pay for what you get and I would give this pan a try. I have used the cheaper Ikea pans and although they were good, I did find that after a few months they went crappy. I have been using my pan a lot lately to make chilli, bolognese, sweet and sour chicken and for curries.

When I was in Ikea I picked up the Kastrull pot. I wanted a smaller pot to boil rice, pasta and vegetables as I cook for myself and I only boil enough for me. This is a perfect all-around pot. It is also lightweight which is great for me as I find pots get quite heavy when full of water and food. It also looks really cute on my counter. It was €14 too.

Plates and Roasting Dishes

I love a roast chicken, I also find that if I roast a chicken I get loads of meals out of it. From using the leftovers in meals and sandwiches to soups I find a roast chicken to be really great value. I didn’t have a proper roasting tray so I picked up two new ones. I find the trays useful for roasting vegetables as well, so, I got two trays so I would have enough. I picked up the stainless steel Koncis roasting tin from Ikea. This is only €7.50 and the perfect size for a medium chicken.

My floral roasting dish is from Homesense. I just think it looks so pretty and I can use this if I have people over and I want to impress them with my roast chicken skills. I love the floral pattern detail on it. This was €16.99 and I picked it up in the Homesense in Blanchardstown, Keep an eye out in TkMaxx as I know they get similar items.

When it comes to food I eat with my eyes. I wanted my food to look as pretty as it tastes so I got some new plates to show it off. I picked up some of the Industriell larger pink plates from Ikea. I originally wanted to pick up a set of the pink Dinera plates but they were out of stock. I also picked up some of the smaller Sommar side plates. These were only €2.50 each and would even double up as a trinket dish.

Glassware

I have lost a few Gin and wine glasses along the way, some of my glasses didn’t survive the party so I had to top up the collection. Coming into Summer I plan on having a few parties and I wanted to replace the ones that got damaged. The ones I picked up from Ikea were only €1.30 each. So, I don’t mind if they break.

Tea towels and Flippers

When scrolling through Instagram I stumbled across a picture from Homesense of these gorgeous pink and rose gold cooking accessories. I was delighted that they were still in stock when I went in. I picked up a flipper, some spoons and a tin opener. Prices on these start at €3.99 and my tin opener was the dearest at €6.99.

I handwash my dishes in the sink. I don’t have a dishwasher so a tea towel and a bottle of fairy washing up liquid are my two most used items in the kitchen. My tea towels were looking a little tired so I picked up this set from HomeSense for €8.99. What I like the most about these is that they feel like towels, I hate the smooth tea towels as I feel they don’t absorb the water from the dishes. These feel lovely and absorbent and they look pretty too!

I picked up these set of three tea tins in HomeSense. I actually want to use these in a future DIY so make sure to keep your eyes peeled on the blog and see what I do with them.
