Vlog | Harvey Norman Homeware Spring Summer 2018

Harvey Norman Spring Summer press day 2018

On Wednesday I got to go on the vintage tea bus and head down to Mount Druid with some fellow bloggers and press to have a look at the new Harvey Norman Spring Summer collection. I never really get to go on press days, however, it was my day off and when I heard we got to go on the vintage tea tour bus I jumped at the chance. Some of you might remember last year when I got to go on the vintage bus with the fancyhen.ie. I vlogged the day and shared it on my Youtube channel to give you a behind the scenes look at the day. I will also share some pictures here.

What I loved about the day was the design inspiration. I love a good mood board. I never really follow trends, however, I am always looking for ways I can experiment with new colours and styles. Especially when it comes to upcycling and projects for the blog. What really caught my eye was the pop of colour against the greys. Grey is so popular right now and a lot of homes are fifty shades of grey. I love a bit of colour and pattern so I loved how one of the trends was adding corals and pinks to lift the grey.

One of the brands that spoke was an Irish brand called Scatterbox. They make these amazing printed cushions. We got two cushions in the goody bag which I will leave a picture below of how I styled them in my house. I loved the print on these and they are really thick and seem to hold their shape.

As some of you know I am a lover of faux flowers. In my last blog post, I was sharing some recent faux flower finds. At the press day, we got a demo on how to style faux flowers and use them to make gorgeous floral arrangements and bouquets. This gave me a great idea to do for a DIY post. So, keep your eyes peeled on the blog to see how I can use some faux roses in a DIY.

For my teacup lovers, you will love the giant wall of teacups! Mount Druid is a popular wedding venue and anytime Kelly Lou cakes would head to Mount Druid to deliver a cake I would be obsessing over the wall of teacups in her snaps. It is no surprise I spent most of my time in Mount Druid looking at all of the pretty china! It is such a pretty venue. I would have loved to spend more time there but we had a short time to get back on the vintage bus and head to Dublin.
