Video: Afternoon tea with thefancyhen.ie |Ad

Have a classy hen party

During the week I had an amazing time with the girls from thefancyhen.ie on one of their hen party activities. I got to go on the old school vintage bus and got treated to tea and cake served to me on gorgeous vintage china.

I am at the age where a lot of my friends and family are getting married and I have attended my fair share of hen parties in the last few years. What I love about the packages on offer from thefancyhen.ie is that they are something different from the norm and offer more of an adventure than just going somewhere to get drunk. Now, don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with that but I love the idea of doing a fun activity to get to know everyone.

I got to pick which activity I wanted to try and it was a toss up between the afternoon vintage tea bus and an afternoon on the farm. There are tonnes of packages to choose, from glamping to cupcake making you have something to suit every bride to be. You can also choose your destination and pick packages in your chosen area.

The vintage tea bus

We were greeted by our fab host Jack when we got on the bus. Our bus was a 1961 Routemaster and Bob our driver took us from Dublin castle all the way to the phoenix park and back into Dublin city passing O’Connell st. We passed the old Georgian houses on the way and finished our tour back at Dublin castle. Jack our host gave us a little bit of history and knowledge along the way too.

We were served a selection of gorgeous teas, cakes and sandwiches along with our journey around the city. On the menu were roast beef, sundried tomato paste and horseradish cream sandwiches. Cucumber, cream cheese and chive sandwiches and the classic egg mayo sambo.

I also got to taste some rose and red wine tea. There is a great selection of teas and coffees on board the bus.

Why I loved the idea of this activity for a hen party was it gets your hens interacting and getting to know each other. At the end of the day, the whole point of a hen party is to meet people and make friends. You want your work buddies, old school buddies and family to all mix and form new relationships and reminisce around a drink at the wedding day and have a laugh.

If you are a bridesmaid and you are struggling for ideas for creating a fun and memorable hen party then I definitely think you will find ideas on thefancyhen.ie website. To get more info and book the activity that I did during the week you can click here.
